Here’s why I’m concerned.

Because when I see a post telling people that there is something out there that is so much greater than Taylor, a God who loves so much that He became a human for the sole reason of DYING for us so that we could all live eternally, I naturally get very excited. I’m very excitable about that stuff, ok? Call me a Jesus freak, call me what you will, but I flipping love that guy, ok?! So I get excited because I’m like YES, whoever submitted this is awesome and knows what’s up, and so I start looking at the notes. And the sheer number of people who took that swiftsecret and totally tore it apart, calling the author ignorant and rude and blind, or just laughing at it, which I think might be worse, is so sad to me.

I know that not everyone will believe in God, but that’s honestly something that I struggle to accept. When I look at the glorious things in nature, like a perfectly shaped flower, or the incredible colors of the sunset, I can’t imagine that people wouldn’t believe. I’m not trying to put you down if you don’t believe, but I’m just saying I don’t get it man!!! 

And then when I think about how much He loves us, it’s just…. it’s totally unfathomable. I think Taylor Swift is incredible. I think she has captured all of the emotions that come with human love so perfectly through her songwriting. It’s something unbelievable, really. But human love only goes so far, and it can only save a person so much. 

Just hear me out for a second, ok? Can we just please look at this, what I believe is the part of the Bible that best explains the comparison between human love and God’s love:

“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8-9

I know a lot of you don’t believe, or maybe it’s something you’ve kinda sorta thought about and considered but aren’t really sure how you feel. I love all of you so, so, so much.
