Anonymous asked: what are your thoughts on homosexuality?

I believe that the Bible condemns homosexuality in several places, both the Old and New Testament, and as such should be considered a sin. 

I also think, however, that there are way too many Christians out there who look at homosexuals as if they are something to be disgusted and despised, which is definitely not something that God would have ever wanted from us. Homosexuality is a sin just like lying or cheating or making someone feel bad about themselves is a sin - WE ARE ALL GUILTY OF SIN!!

No Christian can look at themselves and say that they are better than a homosexual person. It’s like Jesus said when some people brought a woman who was a prostitute to Him, asking Him whether or not she should be stoned to death. He said, “Let he who is without sin throw the first stone.” 

Let me make clear that I am not saying I think homosexuals can keep living out their homosexuality without repenting and still honestly be connected to God. I think that just like any other sin, it really detracts from one’s relationship with God. And I don’t know if people are born homosexual or not, and it’s not something that I know enough about to debate. What I do know is that I have heard glorious stories of people who felt that they were homosexual, and because of their incredible love for Jesus, they prayed about it and chose to live celibate lives rather than live a life of homosexuality. THAT is the example I think homosexuals should choose to follow should they feel called to really follow Christ whilst still feeling like they are really homosexuals.

It is just like any other Christian should do when they feel trapped in a sin. We pray a lot about it, ask God to help us overcome temptation, and focus totally and completely on God and His love for us. If you’re focusing on that, you can overcome absolutely any sin, and the love that God has for you is soooooooo much bigger than the love or satisfaction that you can get from any other human relationship anyway <3
